The John C. Borden Auditorium is the School's main performance stage, with seating for 846. Originally built in 1931, it is a gem of the Art Deco style, featuring high wood wainscot, elaborate metalwork, and an entirely unique chandelier. Programming at Borden ranges from full-scale opera productions to intimate chamber recitals.
With seating for 281, the intimate Gordon K. & Harriet Greenfield Hall is the School's main space for chamber music, master classes, and lectures. The Hall's Edwardian design features a distinctive stained-glass window, which allows for a high degree of natural lighting. In addition, the Hall's newly integrated audio system makes it an ideal recording space.
The William R. and Irene D. Miller Recital Hall is the School's “jewel-box” theater, with seating for 153. Equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual facilities, it is also one of several prime sound-stages at the School. With a thrust stage flanked by same-level seating, Miller provides a rare immediacy for both performer and listener.
Baroque opera, Afro-Cuban jazz, and contemporary performance are among the events that take place in the Alan M. and Joan Taub Ades Performance Space. This versatile studio accommodates 215 people and is outfitted for performances featuring dance, theater, or multimedia elements.
A flexible teaching, rehearsal, and performance facility, Mikowsky Hall features a stage with space for two grand pianos and movable seating for 50. With its ideal acoustics and intimate atmosphere, Mikowsky is perfectly suited for solo recitals of all kinds.
As part of the facilities of Charles Myers Recording Studio, Myers Hall is the School's primary recording venue. With seating for 35, it is also an excellent small concert space. State-of-the-art acoustical treatment makes it particularly well-suited for any music requiring amplification or electronics.
Home to two of the School's harpsichords and a newly-constructed pipe organ, Pforzheimer is a favorite hall for baroque performance. With its high ceilings and resonant acoustics, it is also popular for vocal and chamber recitals. Seating 50 people, Pforzheimer is one of the most-used recital halls.
