Payment online only. $100 USD ($50 for current MSM students, current MSM Precollege students, and MSM college alumni). Additional late fee of $50 USD will be charged after December 1.

Freshman - 2 letters (one must be from high school guidance counselor)
Transfer & Graduate - 2 letters
Doctoral Recommendations - 3 letters
Electronic submission of recommendations is preferred.
Transcripts
The submission of official school transcripts is required of all applicants.

Transcripts from all colleges/universities attended. Transfer students with less than 2 years of college work earned must also submit high school transcript.
International Transcripts
As listed above with official, notarized English translations.
Test Scores
Original and official copies of test scores should be submitted to the Office of Admissions.
Non-Native English Speakers
TOEFL (iBT) required. For more information about TOEFL policies, visit the International Applicant page.
ACT, SAT, & GRE
Not required.
Prescreening Materials
Many programs at Manhattan School of Music require the submission of prescreening materials in order to be invited to the audition.

Doctoral Writing Sample
For doctoral degree applicants only. A writing sample from recent academic work (i.e. a final term paper or a substantial equivalent) required for all doctoral applicants. Both the Doctoral Committee and the Admissions Committee will evaluate the writing sample.This document must be either mailed as a hard copy to the address below or sent via email to admission@msmnyc.edu.

Transfer Credit
Undergraduate applicants wishing to transfer into Manhattan School of Music are required to submit official transcripts from each previous post-secondary institution. Please refer to the Registrar's Transfer Credit Letter, which explains the transfer of academic credits.

Readmission
Former students wishing to re-enroll (in order to complete a previous program of study at Manhattan School of Music) must schedule an interview with the Vice President for Academics and Performance to discuss readmission prior to the application/audition procedure.
