Anne Shikany

Annie Shikany, a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, has directed Così fan tutte for Opera Cooperative, Cavalleria Rusticana for North Shore Music Festival, and New York Lyric Opera’s Gala Concert at Carnegie Hall. Last spring she directed scenes from The Leopard (music by Michael Dellaira and libretto by J. D. McClatchy) for Page to Stage, produced in partnership by MSM and American Opera Projects.  This spring she will direct scenes from Vera (music by Matthew Barnson and libretto by Mark Sonnenblick) for Page to Stage.

She is the Director of the Sophomore Performance Class at Manhattan School of Music and was an Instructor of English diction at MSM for the 2014–15 school year.  Annie has completed the Uta Hagen Teacher Training at HB Studios in New York City, and is currently enrolled in the Patsy Rodenburg Teacher Certification Program.

Annie has been Assistant to the Artistic Director of Opera at Manhattan School of Music for the past nine years and also assistant director and production coordinator for both main stage and Senior Opera Theater productions. She received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Tulsa and a Master of Music Degree from Manhattan School of Music
