Announcing the Jazz Institute at Manhattan School of Music
A total of 15 students will be selected from a pool of newly admitted Jazz Arts Bachelor of Music and Master of Music students to become Fellows of the Jazz Institute; currently enrolled students will also be considered. The 15 elite Fellows of the Jazz Institute will receive full scholarships and the opportunity to perform at festivals, on broadcast media, and in NYC’s leading venues.
To be selected, prospective students must first apply to a BM or an MM degree, submitting all required application materials. The deadline for 2012-2013 application materials is December 1, 2011. There is a prescreening for all applicants. Those prospective students who pass through prescreening will be invited to MSM for an audition.
The audition score will be vitally important for selection to become a Fellow of the Jazz Institute, as well as his or her overall academic and professional record. Applicants to this elite program must also submit financial aid/scholarship consideration documents listed at http://www.msmnyc.edu/Admissions/Scholarships-Financial-Aid.
The deadline for financial aid materials is March 1, 2012.
