Manhattan School of Music's special programs offer a number of unique learning opportunities beyond our general academic curriculum. These programs enable you to enrich your musical training experience and develop new perspectives on the performing arts.
Conducting Seminar With Kurt Masur
A weeklong program of intensive direct instruction for young conductors selected by Kurt Masur, the Conducting Seminar gives student conductors the opportunity to conduct the Manhattan School of Music Symphony Orchestra in a master-class format, with post-rehearsal discussion and critique from Maestro Masur. The seminar culminates with a public concert.
Outreach / Engagement
Manhattan School of Music continually seeks funding for these important outreach initiatives, from sponsoring a summer camper to underwriting a year of instrumental lessons in a New York City public school.
