All students start the 2009-2010 academic year by checking into
Manhattan School of Music on August 19, 2009 at an assigned time
between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Please arrive with a photo identification
card. During the check-in process, school identification cards will
be issued for all students.
Orientation activities are designed for all new undergraduate and
graduate students and will begin August 19, 2009 at approximately
2:00 PM. Programs and activities have been designed to assist students
with the transition to their new lives on- and off-campus and include
opportunities for students to get to know one another and become
acclimated to both Manhattan School of Music and New York City.
There are also some important orientation events planned for parents
and guardians on the 19th.
Placement testing occurs during this time as well. An orientation
packet with a complete list and description of activities will be
emailed in early July to all accepted students. If you do not receive
a summer packet of information from the Office of Student and Residence
Life by July 7, 2009, please contact 917-493-4525 immediately.
Note: the deadline for registration for Orientation events is
Thursday, August 6, 2009.
