Following her triumphant New York debut, The New York Times lauded her “sizzling virtuosity, melting tone, and wonderfully supple approach to phrasing.”Ms. Robert has been featured as soloist with such orchestras as the Montreal Symphony under Charles Dutoit, the Mexico City Philharmonic, Toronto Symphony, Winnipeg Symphony, Halifax Symphony, and Orchestre Symphonique de Québec. As recitalist and chamber musician, she has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and the Far East in major music centers including New York, London, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Vienna, Seoul, Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal. An active participant in the summer music festival scene, Ms. Robert has appeared regularly as guest artist or faculty member at major music festivals such as Bowdoin, Waterloo, Musicorda, Meadowmount, Orford, and Scotia. She is currently a faculty member of the Texas Music Festival at the Moores School of Music and the Aria International Summer Academy in Ontario. As a recording artist, Ms. Robert has performed for live broadcasts on National Public Radio’s Performance Today series, Arts National on the CBC Radio Network, Radio Canada, and Radio France. Her debut recording of violin sonatas by Fauré and Saint-Saëns received critical acclaim in Fanfare magazine.In addition to her concert activities, Ms. Robert is much sought after as a teacher. Her students have been prizewinners in major competitions including Indianapolis International Violin Competition, Young Concert Artists, Paganini International Violin Competition, and Artists International Auditions. She has given master classes at the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, Carnegie Mellon University, Wilfrid Laurier University, and throughout Korea and Taiwan. Ms Robert is currently a member of the violin faculties at Manhattan School of Music and the Mannes College of Music.Born in Montreal, Lucie Robert received the Premier Prix de Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal and then continued her studies with the legendary Josef Gingold at Indiana University, serving as his teaching assistant. She has been a recipient of the Career Development Grant from the Canada Council, and was a prizewinner of the Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition.David Geber had his early musical training in Los Angeles, where he was raised in a family of professional cellists. He studied at the Eastman School of Music and The Juilliard School, from which he holds bachelor of music and master of music degrees. His principal teachers included Claus Adam and Ronald Leonard. Mr. Geber has been the recipient of numerous cello and chamber music awards, including the Walter W. Naumburg Award and the Coleman Chamber Music Prize. Mr. Geber was a founding member of the American String Quartet, and he was cellist of the quartet from 1974 to 2002. He has appeared as soloist at Tanglewood and Aspen, as well as with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Montreal Symphony. A strong supporter of new music, he has premiered numerous works for cello and varied chamber music combinations. He has recorded for CRI, RCA, Musical Heritage Society, New World Records, Nonesuch Records, Albany Records, and Capstone Records. Mr. Geber frequently gives recitals and master classes in North America.
