Free Outdoor Concerts to kick-off our 90th Anniversary Celebration! Mayor Michael Bloomberg has declared October 18, 2007, “Manhattan School of Music Day” in New York City and Commissioner Kate Levin of the Department of Cultural Affairs will read the Mayor’s proclamation in Times Square at 10:00 a.m. that morning. Images of our live performances in Times Square will be simulcast on the Panasonic giant screen for all to see. A Quinnipiac University poll has determined the most popular song about New York and that song will be performed by the Manhattan School of Music Concert Jazz Band, accompanied by the crowd assembled.
