| | | Cellist David Soyer was born in Philadelphia and studied with Diran Alexanian, Emanuel Feuermann, and Pablo Casals. He has appeared in recital with Rudolf Serkin, Peter Serkin, Mieczyslaw Horszowski, and András Schiff. He has also been soloist with the orchestras of Philadelphia, Dallas, Utah, and Denver. Mr. Soyer is on the faculty of Manhattan School of Music, the Curtis Institute, and the University of Maryland. He has performed at many of the world’s famous festivals, including those of Marlboro, Spoleto, and Israel, and has numerous recordings to his credit.
David Soyer was a member of the Guarneri Quartet for thirty-six years and has appeared as a member of the Marlboro Trio. Mr. Soyer plays a 1778 Gagliano cello from Naples.
