Ms. Lockhart is a faculty member in the Precollege for the following department(s) and division(s):
| | | Miriam Lockhart is an active orchestral, chamber and theater musician. She has performed with the New York Philharmonic, New York City Opera, New Jersey Symphony, Brooklyn Philharmonic, Bard Music Festival, American Symphony Orchestra, and New York Grand Opera, and is a member of the Long Island Philharmonic and Queens Symphony.
A noted chamber musician, Ms. Lockhart was for many years co-director of the Odyssey Chamber Players. She currently coaches, gives master classes, and performs at the CW Post Chamber Music Festival.
Ms. Lockhart has appeared on many radio and television broadcasts, including “Live from Lincoln Center” with the New York Philharmonic and Kurt Masur, “The Listening Room” with Bob Sherman, and chamber music broadcasts on WNYC. She has recorded for the Angel, Koch Classics, Delos, CRI and Warner Bros. Labels.
She is on the faculty of the Manhattan School of Music Precollege, Juilliard School Music Advancement Program, William Paterson University, and C.W. Post University, and will be teaching at Rutgers University in the spring of 2007. Ms. Lockhart received a B. Mus. degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a Masters of Music in clarinet performance from the Manhattan School of Music.
