Jonathan Gill teaches American literature, history, and humanities at the Manhattan School of Music, Columbia University, and the City College of New York. He has published and lectured widely on American literature and culture and is the author of "The Wishing Tree: A History of Harlem" (Forthcoming from Grove/Atlantic).
