The reputation of Manhattan School of Music rests largely upon
its 275-member faculty of highly accomplished performing artists
and teachers. These devoted professionals specialize in building
performers with a strong foundation of technical skills; they hold
our students to the highest standards of our musical heritage while
fostering originality of expression.
Students benefit from the talent and involvement of these accomplished
musicians. They are soloists, chamber and jazz artists, and members
of such performing institutions as the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan
Opera, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Village Vanguard
Jazz Orchestra, Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, New York City Opera
and Ballet orchestras, and Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.
“Pursuing excellence as a musician demands hard work and
a lot of it. Choosing a music school in which to invest the most
valuable and formative years of your life is a serious matter. Manhattan
School of Music has never failed to impress me with its energy,
dedicated students—students who put in the time and sacrifice
and who have the achievements to show for it—and its wonderful
collegial atmosphere. With these attributes and a first-rate faculty
of seasoned performers and instructors, Manhattan School of Music
is a truly special place.”
