Associate Director of Facilities Operations

Position Description

Title: Associate Director of Facilities Operations
Department: Facilities
Reports To: Associate Vice President of Facilities & Campus Safety
Supervises: Facilities Coordinator, Cleaning and Security Staff
Internal Contacts: Students, Faculty, and Staff
External Contacts: Contractors, Vendors, State and City Agencies, others as required
Employment Status: full-time; exempt

Domains

  • Supervise cleaning and custodial staff throughout MSM’s campus.
  • Oversee contracted security officers assigned to MSM’s two campus entrances, working with supervisors and our account manager to ensure day-to-day expectations are met.
  • Represent Facilities Department at staff meetings as required.
  • Maintain inventory of furniture, fixtures, and equipment throughout campus.
  • Support departmental planning, contracting, and oversight for maintenance, repair, and other projects.
  • Support preparation and filing of permits, registrations, and applications, and maintain compliance with DOB, FDNY, DOH, DEP and other agency regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree, or 3+ years of facilities or building management experience.
  • Experience overseeing and directing union staff a plus.
  • Accounts payable experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of regulations relating to the operation and maintenance of facilities is preferred.
  • Prior experience using room scheduling software and computerized maintenance management software a plus.
  • Maintains high level of confidentiality.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
