Title: Dresser (Part time)
Department:  Production
Reports To:  Wardrobe Supervisor
Supervises:  n/a
Internal Contacts: Production staff; Opera Theatre and Musical Theatre students, faculty, and staff
External Contacts: Guest artists; off-site venue managers
Employment Status: Part time / Non-exempt
Pay Rate:  $28.00 to $30.00/hour

Domains

• Act as a Dresser for Opera Theatre and Musical Theatre productions.
• Assist Costume Design team as needed.
• Oversee and physically assist students dressing during performances.
• Responsible for obtaining, organizing, repairing, laundering, and storage of costumes.
• Transport costumes from the dressing room level up to stage.

Job Requirements

• Basic sewing skills, both hand and machine
• Laundry skills
• Able to manage stairs and lift 50lbs
• Ability to communicate in a highly professional manner
• Degree in theater arts or commensurate experience
• Must be a team-player and collaborate well with others in a stressful environment
• Hair and makeup experience welcome

Job Details

• This part-time position is on a show-by-show basis
• Hours require night and evening hours. Overtime will be scheduled ahead of time by the Wardrobe Supervisor
