Streaming Video Coordinators will work with the Distance Learning and Recording Arts Department to prepare and provide musical cues and guidance during live video streaming and recording of large ensemble concerts in Neidorff-Karpati Hall, beginning November 2018.
Streaming Video Coordinators will be expected to obtain copies of the musical scores for upcoming streaming events from the MSM Performance Library, attend 1-2 rehearsals in order to observe and mark the scores with important musical and visual cues, and attend the dress rehearsal and concert/performance to work with Distance Learning and Recording Arts staff and engineers in the control room, providing cues to help determine upcoming video camera angles and framing (ex., giving a cue to the video camera operator that an important solo is coming up in the clarinet section so they can prepare the camera shot). Streamed events will include large ensemble performances by Orchestra, Jazz Arts, Opera Theater and Musical Theatre, and the Contemporary Performance Program.
Distance Learning and Recording Arts is looking to hire a total of four students, one from each of the following areas of study, to work throughout the Academic Year:
Additionally, Streaming Video Coordinators will be trained in video post-production and expected to edit recorded videos following each event and prepare them for archiving and delivery to the MSM community. Streaming Video Coordinators may also be assigned to monitor student recital and MSM concert video recordings that take place in one of three control rooms in the Distance Learning and Recording Arts Department.

Job Title: Student Stage Technician Department: Production Reports to: Production Staff Contact: bpoh@msmnyc.edu Eligibility: Open to students attending MSM Hours per week: 2-6 Salary per hour: $15.00 Application due: Until Filled Responsibilities: Work with Production Staff on classes, rehearsals, concerts, and other events. Help maintain the physical theater spaces, including janitorial work. Assist with set up and tear down of stage configurations. Help enforce performance space policies. After appropriate training, perform other technician work, including electrics, carpentry, scenic painting, or performance run crew Qualifications: Comfortable with physical work, including lifting, kneeling, climbing ladders, and racking and stacking chairs and stands. Attention to detail, able to work well alone or in a group. Interest in learning and developing technical skills. Good communication skills, including reading and responding to scheduling emails. Strong command of the English language. There is a dress code that requires close-toed shoes and black pants. Must attend mandatory Interested Students meeting and (after hiring) Orientation meeting.

Students at MSM can work on an hourly basis for many School departments including Production, Communications, Distance Learning and the Center for Music Entrepreneurship.
