Junction/Tanowitz World Premiere/Promethean Fire
One of Taylor’s earliest works, Junction showcases the abstract side of Mr. Taylor, juxtaposed against Bach’s famous Solo Suites for Cello, while Promethean Fire examines the emotional resilience of the human spirit, using stunning patterns of movement to echo Stokowski’s orchestration of Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor. A world premiere by modern choreographer Pam Tanowitz – known for her sophisticated movement invention and theatricality – closes out this program.
