My background is in Musical Theatre and I’ve performed Off-Broadway and regionally across the country. I’ve also worked in Admissions at various institutions for more than 7 years. I’ve loved music my entire life, and that love was passed down to me by my mother.
I love the incredible diversity here, and the 140 practice rooms (which is a CRAZY number!).Â
At MSM, you not only get a world-class education in one of the best cities on the planet, but the environment is so friendly and supportive that you can legitimately find friends for life here.
The biggest piece of advice I can offer is to not wait until the last minute to finish your application! You will unnecessarily stress yourself out, and it’s not worth it. Start early, and do it piece by piece.Â
Broadway (of course) and the array of restaurants and food.
Living in NYC has given me a chance to bump into and have full conversations with almost all of my musical theater idols, including Brian Stokes Mitchell, Norm Lewis, Anika Noni Rose (who said I had an amazing smile!), Patti LuPone, Joshua Henry, and Megan Hilty.Â
My favorite spot is Neidorff-Karpati Hall. It’s an absolutely stunning performance space.Â
Right now, my favorite IG page is @embracingblackculture. It’s fun and hilarious and uplifting.Â
The song that I can’t stop listening to this year is ‘Don’t Start Now’ by Dua Lipa. The lady just makes bops!Â
