Manhattan School of Music's pre-conservatory training program for talented musicians aged 5 to 18, held on Saturdays during the school year.

MSM’s Precollege program gives talented students professional instruction and multiple performing opportunities in a supportive environment — and collaborative time spent with like-minded peers, many of whom become life-long friends and colleagues.

Students take part in either our Classical Program, or our Jazz Program.

Instruction each Saturday through the school year includes a weekly private lesson and classes such as ear training, composition, orchestra, chorus, or conducting.

Students also take part in numerous performances held in our various recital halls. The mission of the Precollege program is to enrich students’ lives and nurture the next generation of professional musicians, arts and civic leaders, as well as future audience members and patrons of the arts. Many graduates go on to attend world-class conservatories, Ivy League universities, and other prestigious institutions.

The MSM Precollege program encourages all students to achieve their potential, whether they wish to enter a music conservatory or pursue another higher education degree.
