Ronald Cappon

Precollege Faculty:
Voice

Ronald Cappon has been teaching voice since 1987. Mr. Cappon’s students have sung roles at the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Welsh National Opera, Opera North, Glimmerglass Opera, Houston Grand Opera, the Göttingen Festival, the Tanglewood Festival, the Carmel Bach Festival and others. They have appeared as soloists with the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Utah Symphony, American Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, Indianapolis Symphony, the Hallé Orchestra and the Brabants Orchestra; have been prizewinners in the Naumburg Competition, the Musicians’ Emergency Fund Competition, the Maria Callas Grand Prix and the Associated Music Teachers League Competition among others; and have appeared on Broadway. His students have made critically acclaimed recordings on the Deutsche Grammophon, Naxos, Harmonia Mundi, and Nonesuch labels. As a performer, Mr. Cappon has appeared at Weill Recital Hall, the 92nd Street Y, Merkin Concert Hall, the Corcoran Gallery, the Manchester Music Festival and in Barbados, Caracas, and St. Jean-de-Luz, France. In addition to his private studio, he teaches at Princeton University, Manhattanville College, and New York University (Tisch School of the Arts).
