The William R. and Irene D. Miller Recital Hall is the School’s “jewel-box” theater. Equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual facilities, it is also one of several prime sound-stages at the School. With a thrust stage flanked by same-level seating, the Hall provides a rare immediacy for both performer and listener.

The recently renovated and expanded Solomon Gadles Mikowsky Recital Hall is a flexible teaching, rehearsal, and performance facility. It features a stage with space for two grand pianos and movable seating. With its ideal acoustics and intimate atmosphere, Solomon Gadles Mikowsky Recital Hall is perfectly suited for solo recitals of all kinds.

Myers Recital Hall

As part of the facilities of the Charles Myers Recording Studio, Charles Myers Recital Hall is the School’s primary recording venue. It is also an excellent small concert space. About Pforzheimer Hall

Home to one of the School’s harpsichords, Carl and Lily Pforzheimer Hall is a favorite hall for baroque performance, and it is also used for presentations, and master classes. With its high ceilings and resonant acoustics, it is also popular for vocal and chamber recitals.

MSM has 15 classrooms that are used for our academic classes, chamber music, and small ensemble rehearsals, in addition to other group activities. These rooms are equipped with either desks or tables and chairs and can be set up to meet each group’s needs.

Teaching Studios

MSM has 30 teaching studios which are used primarily to teach private lessons and chamber groups. They are also used as a warm up room for master classes and performances. These rooms are spread throughout the building and each feature one or two grand pianos.

Practice Rooms

MSM has 83 practice rooms. Our practice rooms are mainly used by our students for private practice and small ensemble rehearsals, and as a place for accompanist and vocal coaching rehearsals. These rooms feature a variety of pianos including grand pianos, hybrid pianos, clavinovas, and some rooms have no pianos. These rooms are also frequently used as a warm up space for competitions and performances.
