MSM Alumnus Jared Bernstein (BM ’78) Named to Biden’s Council of Economic Advisers

AP reports that President-Elect Joe Biden has tapped Manhattan School of Music alumnus Jared Bernstein, who studied double bass at MSM and earned his Bachelor of Music from the School in 1978, for a role on his Council of Economic Advisors (CEA).

From the AP article: Mr. Bernstein “was an adviser to then-Vice President Biden during the Obama administration before becoming a fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, a left-leaning think tank. Bernstein has also worked as a social worker and was an economist at the Economic Policy Institute, a labor-supported think tank.” The President-Elect named Cecilia Rouse to chair the CEA; the head of Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs, Ms. Rouse “would be the first Black woman to lead the CEA in its 74 years of existence.”
