From February 24 to March 3, while MSM students enjoyed spring break, we welcomed applicants and family members from across the globe to our campus for MSM Audition Week. More than 2,000 talented musicians auditioned, most of those in-person. It was a great week of auditions, information sessions, and tours.

We’ve tallied it up, and here’s what this year’s audition week looked like by the numbers!

• In-person auditions and interviews: 1,460
• M-Team workers — our fabulous team of student workers: 98
• Adjudicating faculty members: 205
• Staff members involved: 47
• Total number of MSM faculty, staff, and M-Team onsite to help: 350!

• Information sessions and events throughout the week: 57
• Audition Week Instagram stories (available in our highlight!): 59
• Audition and warm-up rooms: 39
• Number of majors for which auditions were taking place: 50
• Carafes of coffee per day: 8 (we love our coffee here!)

And, beyond the past week, we’ve had:

• Virtual auditions: 567
• Total final auditions & interviews: 2027
• Total hours of auditions: 295 (equivalent to 12.3 [24-hour] DAYS)

It takes mountains of effort, teamwork, and time to make Audition Week happen at MSM, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Congratulations to all our applicants! We have been so impressed by the quality of this year’s auditions, and we hope that you are proud of what you’ve accomplished thus far.
