MSM’s production of Cabaret—put together by a team of Broadway veterans including director Don Stephenson, choreographer and MSM Associate Dean & Director of Musical Theatre Liza Gennaro, and musical director David Loud—presents for the first time a version of the show that John Kander, according to Gennaro, “always wanted to see.” Kander, the sole living author of Cabaret, was asked for his preferred version of the show and answered with moments, cuts, and restorations originating from all of Cabaret‘s major revisions.

MSM Musical Theatre presents a unique, reimagined production of the Broadway classic, Cabaret.
The production features the timeless music and lyrics of Kander & Ebb, as well as original choreography by Ron Field for “The Telephone Song.”

SLIDESHOW: John Kander gave feedback and advice to the performers between scenes. "It's great working with the kids; you get their take on the material that was written long before they were born," he said. "It's very touching and exciting for me to find out what that feels like in their mind."

The 2018/2019 school year marked the Centennial anniversary of Manhattan School of Music — a milestone that was celebrated throughout each semester, culminating in a final performance at Carnegie Hall. Members of the Cabaret cast were invited to perform in front of a sold out Isaac Stern Auditorium and they were a huge hit!
