Information on How to Apply:

Starting in April, students who have officially confirm with MSM, will receive a welcome e-mail containing their MSM e-mail, their Student ID, and a link to apply for housing. As students confirm to MSM, they should receive their welcome e-mail within a week.

The Housing application will be open on April 8, 2024, in eReslife

• Once you receive your MSM credentials, use your MSM email and password to log into eRezlife.
• Students using eRezLife for the first time will need to activate their account.
• The Housing Application can be found right on your home tab, under “Your Housing Applications.”

The Housing Application for all incoming students (Graduate and Undergraduate) is due May 8, 2024. 

Important Reminders:

• All Freshman and Sophomore students are required to live on campus. All freshman and sophomore students will be placed in housing; therefore, it is important to meet the deadlines and submit your preferences by the May 8th deadline.
• Graduate and Junior Transfer Students are encouraged to apply for housing! Junior students will be assigned housing on our upperclass floors. Incoming Graduate students will be placed together as space allows.
• Freshman Summer English Study (SES) students are required to live on campus for the duration of the academic school year. Please make sure you apply for housing in addition to fulfilling your SES requirements. You must complete both a Summer Housing Application, for the SES program, and housing application for the 2024-2025 school year. Both applications are in eRezlife and are due by May 8, 2024.
• Graduate Summer English Study (SES) students must live on campus for the duration of the Summer English Study (SES) program but will not have housing for the academic year unless they apply and receive a housing assignment. If you would like housing, please make sure you apply in addition to fulfilling your SES requirements. You must complete both a Summer Housing Application, for the SES program, and housing application for the 2024-2025 school year if you want to be considered for Fall and Spring housing. Both applications are in eRezlife and are due by May 8, 2024.

The anticipated housing rates for the 2024–2025 academic year are as follows:

Triple Room: $9700

Double Room: $11,800

Single Room: $16,800

Premium Single: $17,900

All MSM students are required to participate in a declining balance meal plan. The cost of the plan is loaded on your ID card to spend at the dining hall à la carte. Meal plan balances roll over from the Fall Semester to the Spring Semester but they do not roll over from year to year.

The following descriptions should help you find the best meal plan for you:

• Gold Plan:  $6,250*
  The gold plan is for students who plan to eat mostly in the MSM cafeteria.
• Silver Plan:  $4,730*
  The silver plan is a mid-range plan for students who want to find a good balance between eating in the cafeteria as well as enjoying local eateries off campus.
• Bronze Plan:  $3,500*
  The bronze plan is built for students who like the convenience of eating on-campus but plan to eat most of their meals off-campus.

*All rates are subject to board approval. 

Note: Students select their meal plan when completing their housing application.

Any student who requires a specific disability accommodation should make a request via our Physician Verification Form by May 8, 2024.

The Office of Residence Life will make every effort to meet the needs of incoming students.

 

 

If you are requesting a Housing Exemption, the documentation for these requests must be sent to the Office of Residence Life at residencelife@msmnyc.edu by May 8, 2024. You may find these documents below.

Freshmen who would like to be considered exempt from housing and live off-campus must complete their request via the Housing Exemption Form. Your request will be reviewed and you will be notified of your status via email.

Students who are requesting to be exempt due to a medical or mental health need must also have a Physician Verification Form completed by a medical professional.

Students who request an exemption due to their mental health will also be asked to be evaluated by an MSM counselor.

Requests to be exempt from housing are due May 8, 2024.
