Starting in April 2025, students who have officially confirmed their enrollment at MSM will receive a welcome email containing:

Freshman SES Students must live on campus for the entire academic year. These students must submit:
Graduate SES Students must live on campus during the SES program but will not automatically have housing for the academic year.

All MSM students are required to participate in a declining balance meal plan. The cost of the plan is loaded on your ID card to spend at the dining hall à la carte. Meal plan balances roll over from the Fall Semester to the Spring Semester but they do not roll over from year to year.

Any student who requires a specific disability accommodation should make a request via our Physician Verification Form by May 5, 2025.

The Office of Residence Life will make every effort to meet the needs of incoming students.
If you are requesting a Housing Exemption, the documentation for these requests must be sent to the Office of Residence Life at residencelife@msmnyc.edu by May 5, 2025. You may find these documents below.
Freshmen who would like to be considered exempt from housing and live off-campus must complete their request via the Housing Exemption Form. Your request will be reviewed and you will be notified of your status via email.
Students who are requesting to be exempt due to a medical or mental health need must also have a Physician Verification Form completed by a medical professional.
Students who request an exemption due to their mental health will also be asked to be evaluated by an MSM counselor.
Requests to be exempt from housing are due May 5, 2025.
