Marjean Olson

Marjean Olson, pianist, joined the Manhattan School of Music faculty in 1999. An active performer and educator throughout the United States, Dr. Olson has a special focus on new music and has given several premieres. She lectures about piano performance as well as pedagogy. Currently she is the director of keyboard skills and the pedagogy instructor for undergraduate and doctoral piano students at Manhattan School of Music.

Dr. Olson received a DMA and an MM from the University of Michigan and a BM from Concordia College in Minnesota. Her previous teaching position was at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Olson’s major teachers include Arthur Green, David Worth, and Janet Johansen. Olson has been a member of the Manhattan School of Music faculty since 1999 and is Assistant Dean of Academics.
