Mim Crellin

Precollege Faculty:
Jazz Voice

Mim Crellin is a versatile vocalist and composer whose work bridges jazz, folk and experimental music. Originally from Adelaide, Australia, Mim spent many years immersed in Melbourne’s vibrant jazz scene before earning her master’s degree in Jazz Studies from Manhattan School of Music. Based in New York, Mim is recognized for her work as a performer, songwriter, and arranger. She collaborates with notable artists including Peter Eldridge of the New York Voices and renowned vocalist and composer Theo Bleckmann. She recently celebrated the release of
her debut album, All Our Little Boxes, a unique autobiographical song cycle.

Alongside her performing career, Mim has over a decade of experience as an educator. She established and led one of Australia’s foremost secondary school contemporary voice programs, mentoring young singers and songwriters whose ensembles earned national recognition. She was teaching jazz voice at Monash University in Melbourne in 2019, and in 2020 became a member of the Manhattan School of Music Precollege jazz program faculty.
