Francesca Leo (MM ’20, Classical Flute) performs Movement III. Elegia, from Christopher Rouse’s Concerto for Flute
View this post on Instagram I wanted to share a clip of the cadenza from Movement III. Elegia from Christopher Rouse’s Concerto for Flute. I am planning to perform this piece on my final master’s recital in early May, even if this performance is given in a living room over a livestream. This part reminds me of a lost soul calling out and searching for light in the darkness. With all of the uncertainty in the world right now, we can rely on music as a unifying force to provide comfort and allow an outlet for our emotions. Practicing this concerto was therapeutic for me today. I hope you’re all staying safe and healthy 💕 This video is part of my submission to the #AMSFluteContest for the student division! #msmbridgingthedistance @msm.nyc @thefluteview @flutespecialists @thestutteringflutist A post shared by Francesca Leo (@francescaleoflute) on Mar 22, 2020 at 6:05pm PDT
