CLASSICAL – BRASS / STRINGS /WOODWINDS

Perform two contrasting pieces or two contrasting movements from the same piece.

CLASSICAL – PIANO

Perform two contrasting pieces or two contrasting movements from the same piece.

The selections must be memorized.

COMPOSITION

Submit scores and recordings of two original compositions. (If recordings are not possible, you can submit a computer realization of the score.)

JAZZ – BASS / BRASS / GUITAR / PIANO / WOODWINDS

Perform two contrasting songs in any jazz style.

Include at least one chorus of improvisation in each song.

MUSICAL THEATER

Perform two musical theater songs of your choice.

PERCUSSION

Perform two (or more) of the following:

• Drum Set: Perform a prepared piece. Demonstrate ability to play various styles such as Jazz, Afro-Cuban, Bossa Nova, Rock, Funk, Hip-Hop.
• Snare Drum: Perform a snare drum piece and be able to showcase different rudiments (singles, stroke rolls, paradiddles, flams, ratamacues, etc.)
• Mallets: Perform a mallet piece for xylophone or marimba.
• Latin Percussion: Play congas, bongo, timbales, or cowbell in a prepared piece or by demonstrating various styles (Salsa, Cha Cha, Bolero, Merengue, Guaguanco).
