MSM Recording Arts offers HD video and audio recordings plus livestreaming services for student and studio recitals that take place in Greenfield Hall, Miller Recital Hall, Pforzheimer Hall, Mikowsky Hall, Myers Recital Hall, and beginning in 2023-24, Ades Performance Space.
All recording and live streaming services are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are dependent on studio and personnel availability. Recital recordings may not be possible during Precollege Division concerts or other student recital recordings that have already been scheduled and confirmed.
You are strongly encouraged to submit your recording and streaming request as soon as you receive your recital date. You’ll receive a link from the Precollege Division to complete an online Recital Recording Request Form once you receive your recital date.
Recital recording requests that are submitted within 2 weeks of the recital date will incur a $50 late fee.
Submitting the online Recital Recording Request Form does not guarantee a student recital recording. The online form submission will be sent to the Recording Arts Department to be processed and you will be notified as to whether the studio will be able to honor your request. You will then receive a confirmation email that includes a link to pay for your recording services online via PayPal.
Take advantage of MSM’s digital recording facility and professional engineering staff and book a private recording session to record audio and video material for upcoming auditions, applications, competitions, or festivals.
HD video recording sessions are offered on Precollege Recording Saturdays in Greenfield Hall, Miller Recital Hall, Mikowsky Recital Hall, and Myers Recording Studio, pending availability around other Precollege activities. Audio and video files of the complete takes from your session will be delivered to you via a digital download link within 5-7 business days following the session. Please plan accordingly with any deadlines you may have.
Recording session times are extremely limited during the peak performance seasons throughout the academic year. Please plan ahead and schedule your recording session far in advance of any submission deadlines for auditions or competitions.
To book a private recording session:
Please email Recording Arts directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
MSM Recording Arts records many of the Precollege Division large ensemble concerts throughout each year, as determined by the Precollege Division and the Distance Learning and Recording Arts Department. These include orchestra, jazz ensemble, opera, and choir concerts. Select concerts are also livestreamed on the MSM website.
Parents/guardians who have a student who performed in a recorded Precollege concert may purchase digital audio and/or video files of that performance.
Please contact Recording Arts directly at email@example.com for the online Recording Copy Request form link.
