Myers Recording Studio offers professional audio and video recording services for the Precollege Division, including student and studio recital recordings, private recording sessions, and Precollege ensemble concert recordings.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, private recording sessions at MSM are currently not available for the Precollege Division.
Myers Recording Studio can make audio recordings of Precollege student and studio recitals that take place in Greenfield Hall, Miller Recital Hall, Pforzheimer Hall, Mikowsky Hall, and the Bossi-Comelli Studio. HD video recordings are available for recitals that take place in Greenfield Hall, Miller Recital Hall, and Mikowsky Hall.
You are strongly encouraged to submit your recording request as soon as you receive your recital date. All recording services are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are dependent on studio and personnel availability. Recital recordings may not be possible during Precollege Division concerts or other student recital recordings that have already been confirmed.
Recital recording requests that are submitted within 2 weeks of the recital date will incur a $50 late fee, which is due when submitting the request form in addition to the standard recital recording fee.
Submitting the Recital Recording Request Form does not guarantee a student recital recording. The form will be sent to the Distance Learning and Recording Arts Department to be processed and you will be notified as to whether the studio will be able to honor your request. If a recital recording request cannot be accommodated by Myers Recording Studio, all payments will be returned in full.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, recording sessions are currently not available at MSM. This information is for reference only.
Take advantage of MSM’s state-of-the-art digital recording facility and professional engineering staff and book a private recording session to record audio and video material for upcoming auditions, applications, competitions, or festivals.
HD video recording sessions are offered on Precollege Recording Saturdays in Greenfield Hall, Miller Recital Hall, and Mikowsky Hall. Audio and video files of the complete takes from your session will be delivered to you via a digital download link within 5-7 business days following the session. Please plan accordingly with any deadlines you may have.
Audio recording sessions may be scheduled in Greenfield Hall, Mikowsky Hall and Myers Recital Hall. These recordings are made in stereo format and include audio files of all takes from the session delivered via digital download.
To schedule a recording session on a Recording Saturday, contact the Precollege Division directly at 917-493-4492 to discuss available recording session times and complete the required Recording Session Request Form.
Precollege students may also book recording sessions at MSM on non-Saturdays when available. To schedule a recording session on a non-Saturday, contact the Recording Arts office directly at recordingrequests@lists.msmnyc.edu.
Recording session times are extremely limited during the peak performance seasons throughout the academic year. Please plan ahead and schedule your recording session far in advance of any submission deadlines for auditions or competitions. Payment for all private recording sessions is due at the end of the recording session by cash or check only; credit cards are not accepted.
Myers Recording Studio records many of the Precollege Division large ensemble concerts throughout each year, as determined by the Precollege Division and the Distance Learning and Recording Arts Department. These include orchestra, jazz ensemble, opera, and choir concerts. Parents/guardians that have a student that performed in a recorded Precollege concert may purchase digital audio or video files of that performance.
