Requirements for Classical Guitar

There is no prescreen requirement for Classical Guitar.

Prepare ALL of the required audition repertoire for the degree level you are applying to, as listed in the dropdown menu below.
MSM offers in-person and recorded final auditions, except for the Doctoral of Musical Arts & Artist Diploma programs, which require an in-person audition.

Undergraduate: Bachelor of Music (BM)

Fifteen minutes of music comprised of three pieces from different historical periods chosen by the applicant, such as Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Early 20th-Century, or Late 20th-Century. Underrepresented works and composers are encouraged. There will also be a brief sight-reading test.
Master of Music (MM)

Twenty minutes of music comprised of three pieces from different historical periods chosen by the applicant, such as Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Early 20th-Century, or Late 20th-Century. Underrepresented works and composers are encouraged. There will also be a brief sight-reading test.
Professional Studies (PS), Professional Performance Diploma (PPD) & Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA)

Twenty-five minutes of music, including two major works (or movements) from different historical periods, such as Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Early 20th-Century, or Late 20th-Century. Underrepresented works and composers are encouraged. There will also be a brief sight-reading test.
