What you need to know to apply for on-campus housing!
These instructions apply to continuing students, including Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, Graduate Students, and Doctoral Students returning for their second year. If you are a new student (including students returning for a new degree), please refer to the Incoming Students Housing page.
All continuing students must complete their Housing Application through eRezlife.
Students selecting a double or triple room must be part of a Roommate Group in eRezLife. Even if you prefer a single room, joining a Roommate Group is recommended in case singles fill up.

All selection times are in Eastern Standard Time (EST).
Note: If selecting a double or triple room, all members of your Roommate Group must confirm the group preference before room selection.
For assistance during the housing selection process, feel free to stop by the Residence Life Offices on the 6th floor.
Our MSM Tour Rooms offer some of the best views on campus, located on the 16th floor with stunning sights of President Grant’s Memorial and the Hudson River. These rooms serve as model spaces for prospective students and visitors touring campus.
Students interested in living in a Tour Room must indicate their interest in the housing application under the Tour Room section.
Students living in a Tour Room are expected to maintain a clean, welcoming, and well-decorated space suitable for visitors.
Review the Housing & Meal Plan Rates for information regarding this year’s rates and fees.
Rising sophomores are required to live on campus. So, make sure to complete your application on time to secure your preferred housing. Rising sophomores who don’t apply for housing on time, will be assigned to a room after the housing selection period.
Continuing Student:Â Continuing students who apply during Housing Selection and are assigned a room are bound by the terms of the Residence Hall Agreement 5 business days after receiving their housing assignment. This includes required students (rising sophomores) and non-required students (juniors, seniors, second year graduate students, professional study and doctoral students.)
Due to the first- and second-year undergraduate student residential requirements, specific floors and rooms will not be available for the housing selection process. This restriction will limit the number of spaces that will be readily available for continuing students to select and may result in a waitlist for housing. When the demand for space for first- and second-year students has been satisfied, additional spaces will be offered to students on the waitlist. Any additional questions can be answered by contacting the Office of Residence Life. Waitlisted students will be notified of their status and will be contacted and placed as rooms become available.
Q: If the application is not timed, how is the order determined? A: Housing selection operates on a lottery system. Applicants will receive a timeslot indicating when they can select housing.
Q: How can I find a roommate? A: There are multiple ways to find a roommate:
