Talking Circles

Created with Sketch.

Talking Circles generates dialogue and fosters leadership on issues about diversity and social justice, for a select group of student leaders.

The program is rooted around the Native American tradition of the Talking Circle. It is hoped that students who participate in this retreat will improve their communication skills, become more practiced at social interaction, and be more effective at connecting to students from other cultures and backgrounds. Talking Circles overnight retreat occurs annually in January at the YMCA Greenkill Retreat in Huguenot, NY.

There is no cost to participate.

The two-day retreat, sponsored by Department of Student Affairs, is for MSM students who are committed to making positive change within the immediate community and see themselves as change agents for the School. This is an opportunity to encourage growth in student leaders.

The Talking Circles 2020 application is now open.  The deadline to apply is December 6, 2019. Please note that submission of an application does not guarantee attendance to the Talking Circles Retreat as there are a limited number of spots available.
